Nearly 9 in 10 use AI. Only 37% see profit

Almost every organisation uses AI, but only 37% report any profit impact from it.

McKinsey's 2026 State of AI survey finds nearly nine in ten organisations now use AI regularly, but only 37% report any EBIT impact from it, essentially unchanged from 2025. About 6% qualify as AI high performers, and 39% expect AI to reduce their headcount in the coming year (up from 32%).
