Global EV sales slipped 2% in September, but Europe grew 39% while China fell 18%.

Global EV sales were 2.15 million in September 2026, down 2% on a year earlier, but the regions moved in opposite directions: Europe rose 39% while China fell 18%, a 57-point gap. North America fell 44%. Year to date, global EV sales are 15.5 million, up 3%.
